Zahra Babar on Gulf Migrant Workers and the COVID-19 Pandemic
Zahra Babar, Associate Director for Research at the Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS), Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q), published a new piece on Gulf Migrant Workers and the COVID-19 Pandemic as part of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin’s MERGE (Migration and the Middle East) project. She stresses the devastating ramifications of the lack of holistic health-care policies developed by Gulf governments to address millions of low-income migrants who continue to perform essential duties amid the pandemic.
