Podcasts

The CIRS explainer series is a podcast platform that brings together academics and leading experts to deliver historically grounded, policy relevant analysis of regional dynamics across the Middle East. Each episode offers a concise and analytically rigorous exploration of unfolding developments, situating current events within their broader political, economic, and strategic contexts. Moving beyond a crisis specific lens, the series engages with the structural forces shaping the region, from geopolitical shifts to evolving state-society relations.

This podcast series is an oral history project that documents the lives of migrant workers from diverse nationalities and employment sectors. Each of the episodes in the CIRS podcast series chronicles an individual’s unique experiences, and is also representative of a much larger story—the story of millions of temporary labor migrants living and working all around the world.
